APLE Transport Solutions is looking for a reliable Afternoon Shift Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team at Junction 13 Truck Stop, Husborne Crawley.

Pay: From £13.98 per hour | Salary: £29,078.40 per annum | Hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00–22:00 | Job type: Full-time

Purpose of the role

To ensure the safe, accurate and timely handling of goods during afternoon and evening operations, including trailer loading and unloading, pallet processing and vehicle preparation. The role supports continuity across logistics flows and helps maintain high operational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Unload and load inbound and outbound trailers, including Fortec, Nexans and Pallet Network vehicles.

  • Ensure correct pallet placement and secure loading practices.

  • Scan, label and mark pallets accurately for dispatch or storage.

  • Process returns and prepare outbound pallets for next-day delivery.

  • Assist with double-decker opening and van loading as required.

  • Support early morning dispatch readiness for customers including John Lewis and Waitrose.

  • Pick and stage storage pallets for next-day operations.

  • Maintain clear and safe bay areas throughout the shift.

  • Use scanning equipment and systems to record pallet movements.

  • Complete shift logs and handover notes for continuity.

  • Collaborate with day and evening teams during shift overlap and support colleagues when available.

Skills and requirements

  • Warehouse or logistics experience is preferred.

  • Valid forklift or MHE certification is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

  • Willingness to support team rotation and cross-training initiatives.

  • Fluent English is preferred.

  • A driving licence is preferred.

  • PPE must be worn at all times.

  • The role includes physical tasks and prolonged sitting and standing.
